Eucomis zambesiaca

Beautiful Pineapple Lily from South Africa bearing white-flowers on a spike topped with a little foliar hat. Plant in well drained compost and start watering in mid-spring and place in a sunny spot. Water freely, feed occasionally. Flowering should commence in mid-summer.

Foliage will die back at some point in autumn, keep dry till spring or alternatively lift bulb and store cool and dry in a paper bag. It is likely to have reproduced itself during the growing season creating new baby bulbs which can be potted up individually or kept with the parent to make a satisfying clump.

Bulbs available from November to  March.  Potted plants available at other times at plant fairs and shows.
